Dancer
Predicted breed: Husky/Shepard cross. Sex: Spayed Female Age: Born November 22nd Weight: 18 Lbs. Rescued from: Saskatchewan reservation community. Likes: Playing outside with her siblings and getting cuddles on the couch. Dislikes: Being brought inside after playing in the yard. Energy Level: Medium. Experience with Kids: Good. She loves our 9 year old daughter and her friends that come over to play. Experience with Cats: None. Ideal Home: A home with a fenced yard. Medical Needs: NA Training Needs: Good progress on going to the bathroom outside, however, she still has occasional pee accidents in the house. ****The Ideal home must be active and committed to training and have owned or worked with medium to large breed dogs in the past. Puppies must not be left alone for intervals longer than 4-5 hours to ensure proper socialization and development. Estimated weight as an adult dog is approx. 50-90 Lbs. Homes must have a fenced yard. |
From Dancer's foster: Don't let this girls sleight frame fool you, she's quite the instigator with play fights with her brothers. She's also one smart cookie. She's the only one of six to learn how to climb out of their playpen (getting a different designed playpen didn't help as she was out in less than 5 minutes). Typically she only comes out when we've taken one of her brother's out for a potty break or to let us know she needs one herself. Although she can hold her own against any of her brothers, Dancer loves her cuddle time too.
Dexter
Predicted Breed: Terrier Mix. Sex: Neutered Male. Approximate Age: 8 months. Approximate Weight: 5 Lbs. Rescued From: California. Likes: To be under the blankets! Snuggling in your neck and Cuddles with his person. Playing with his foster sister, digging for treats in the snuffle mat, Chewing on bones/toys, tug of war and everybody's favourite, cheese! Dislikes: This cold weather! Energy Level: Medium. Experience with Kids: He is uncomfortable around kids-older teenagers would be ok. Experience with Cats: N/A Ideal Home: I think Dexter would be best suited in a home that either has another small-medium sized dog for him to play with or in a home where his human would be there most of the time. He does not like to be left alone. He is not best suited for a home with small children as he hides from them and can be snippy if they approach him. Would be best in a home with another dog or with someone who will be home a lot. Medical Needs: None at this time. Training Needs: Potty training/Is pee pad trained for the most part. Confidence and basic commands. ***Dexter is a nervous little guy, I think because of his size.He is scared of every situation he has been put in so far but he is slowly gaining confidence. Once he is comfortable in your home he is great but he is not a fan of being left alone. We haven't been out for walks yet due to this cold weather but I think he enjoys getting out. |
From Dexter's foster: Dexter is a sweet tiny little guy who just wants to cuddle and be as close to his human as possible. He is still a puppy so is playful and will chew if given the chance so we provide lots of options for him. He is great with my dog and they play during the day while I am at work. He does "squeak" (he has the tiniest bark that is more like a squeak) and howl while I'm gone so he would be best in a home that is unattached. He doesn't like to be far from his person which we are working on. He needs to build some confidence and I think that will help with being alone. He is quite nervous in new situations and will climb into your neck if there are a lot of people or animals around. When we are home he is a gem and we are totally in love with his personality. Its been so cold that we haven't been able to get outside to see how he does on a leash. So far I've carried him or had him in a kennel each time we go outside. Dexter will do best in a home that does not have children. He is nervous of my 10 yr old daughter so a home with no children or older teenagers would be best.
